Registration
Registration to the event is binding. Deadline for registration is Feburary 3rd 2012 at 23:59 EET. Teams of four members will selected primarily based on registration order. The organizers, however, reserve the right to make some changes in order to ensure balanced representation of different disciplines. If a registered participant cannot take part in the event, he/she must inform the organizers about this at least 3 days before the event. For such cases we will organize a waiting list.
During the Event
Organizers will point out a teamwork room/place for each team. Communicating with the outside world is acceptable, but please cite your references accordingly. Design Factory premises are at participants' use during the day. You are free to use the materials you find for your presentation. If you need something special, contact the organizers. Also the entertainment rooms are at our use, so why not take break and try your skills at karaoke, for example. Disturbing and plagiating other teams is strictly forbidden. During the event, a warm lunch will be served. Some snacks will be available throughout the day and in the closing session.
Presentations
Teams will present their work in random order. If you want to present something using the projector, the pdf or ppt(x) files must be given via USB stick to organizers by 12.00 EET. Late submissions will not be presented. Each team will have 8 minutes for their presentation. Organizers will show a cue when the team has 3 minutes and 1 minute left. Too long a presentation will lead to a penalty.
Selecting the Winning Team and Prizes
Jury will select the winning team primarily based on the presentations. Following aspects will be evaluated: originality, argumentation skills, presentation, implementability. Winning team will be awarded with a right to participate in the follow-up competition in Stockholm and a grant to cover travelling expenses. Winning team members will also be awarded with Windows Phones. Everybody is invited to "jatkot" at Rantsu after the competition!
