How to Join?

Just follow these easy steps:

Register yourself alone or as a part of a team. (Every team will have four members so don't worry; nobody will have to compete alone!) Wait for confirmation e-mail. Be at 9:00 am at the Aalto Design Factory in Otaniemi on 16th February.

What kind of competition is it?

In the competition, the competitors should work in teams of four Aalto students to invent an idea of a new, original Windows Phone application based on the task description given by Microsoft at the beginning of the event. They should then implement a proto/demo of their application and present their work to the judges at the end of the competition. The competition time is 24 hours. During the competition, there will be food and drinks served, video games and other activities available for breaks. After the competition's Award Ceremony we also offer a lunch for you and our company partners. And after the lunch you'll be invited to join our After-Party at Rantsu!

So, why should you come?

By participating in our competition you'll get to attend Microsoft's Windows Phone Software Development Training Sessions on the 8th and 9th of February for free. In addition to Microsoft, you'll get to meet the representatives of our other partners and hear about their current challenges related to Windows Phone. You get to show them your skills at the competition assignment after which they might even offer you a job.

Tutors from our partner companies and Windows Phone Aalto Community will help you at the different stages of your work. This means that you don't need to be a professional to enter our competition. It's enough that you're interested in the topic and willing to learn more! The trainings before the event and the tutoring during the competition will support your success.

In our contest you can win some awesome prizes including Windows Phones and a trip to the EBEC Nordic Finals in Stockholm!! You can also continue your work with your team in Microsoft's Imagine Cup which may take you to all the way to its finals in Sydney, Australia!

Still not sure?

All in all, EBEC Aalto 2012 is a great way to get to meet the companies and other students interested in Windows Phone Software Development and use your creativity, knowledge and skills to create something new together. It's gonna be unique learning experience unlike regular schoolwork. Don't miss it!
